(words & music by Barry Keys) I woke up in the middle of the night and recorded this song as I wrote it. Straight out of the dream state, it is as raw as I can make it. A short verse form. Similar to Haiku. The subconscious reveals all. My reflection on a love from long ago, is sweet and sad at the same time. It was, for me, a little surprising that I still have this longing, but there it is. So, be honest. It really was there. I tried to not notice. Now it is resolved.
I find that when I write my dreams down, right away, before they vaporize, I dream more vividly the next night. Kids at Hathaway Children’s Village would keep ‘dream journals’. We used the model set by Dr. Anne Faraday, a leading psychiatrist with an expertise in dream study.
This is not a typical title track. Usually the title track is really hip and catches on fast. Eclectic for effect.
