about

(words & music by Barry Keys) Abused children. This song is an homage to people who can really help with abused kids. I was blessed to be part of a team that could really work with and heal. These kids that we helped were sometimes rescued from sex cults, satanic cults, gangs and extremely dysfunctional families. This is for those amazing people, mostly women, who are brilliant, selfless healers. Real heroes who do the same daily routine and can think on their feet and create something special for each individual, broken child. They know how to listen and know how to respond. They also teach the uninitiated, like me, how to get more in-tune to what’s going on. I was blessed to work in a special place where kids, who went through the worst things that you can imagine, can be helped in a real way. Blessed, because it taught me that there are solutions for all kinds of hurt.

lyrics

Late at night when the Angels are sleeping
You can hear them laughing
You can hear them cry
With all those troubles and
What they’ve been through
I got no good answers
For telling them ‘why’

You may know about it
You might have met someone
Who told it true
About these kids who got nothing
To show for it
Like we do
But sometimes they pull through

Years in the trenches
Paid more than taxes
Sacrificed love
Like playing with matches
It gets overwhelming
The good heart the cost
You believe in the mission
Which can no way be lost

You May know about it
Somebody may have
Even helped you too
These kids who got
Nothing to show for it
Like we do
But sometimes they pull through

Thanks to you.
